We have two dogs and I live with my brother and parents. Everybody wears their shoes in the house so the carpets get dirty fast. I vacuum every other day…We have a carpet steamer, but the carpets haven’t been cleaned for a little over a year probably.
I just cleaned the carpet in this room, but it smells dirty still.
I know that vinegar is great for dissolving dirt and soap residue as well as removing odors from fabrics, so I was wondering if it would be safe to make a diluted vinegar solution to go over the carpet again with the steamer.
Also, given the information above, what would be a recommended carpet steaming interval?
